Agreeing to These Terms

Using GuardiBox's encrypted email service means you're accepting these Terms of Service. If any part of this doesn't work for you, please don't use the service. Once you sign up, this becomes a binding agreement between you and GuardiBox.

What the Service Covers

GuardiBox runs an encrypted email service built on zero-knowledge architecture, covering secure messaging, storage, and related features. It's provided as-is, and we can modify, pause, or discontinue any part of it at any time.

Setting Up an Account

To use the service, you must:

  • Be at least 16 years old
  • Provide accurate and complete registration details
  • Keep your account credentials secure
  • Notify us right away of any unauthorized access
  • Take responsibility for all activity under your account

What You Can't Do With It

You agree not to use GuardiBox to:

  • Break any laws or regulations
  • Send spam, unsolicited marketing, or bulk commercial mail
  • Distribute malware, viruses, or harmful code
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse others
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights
  • Attempt unauthorized access to our systems
  • Interfere with the service or other users' access
  • Engage in illegal or fraudulent activity

How Your Data Stays Private

Zero-knowledge encryption keeps us out of your email content entirely. We do collect certain metadata, covered in our Privacy Policy, and using the service means accepting those data practices.

How Billing Works

For paid plans:

  • Payment is due in advance for each subscription period
  • Fees aren't refundable except where the law requires it
  • Pricing changes come with 30 days' notice
  • Automatic renewal applies unless you cancel
  • Non-payment may lead to suspension or termination

Who Owns What

All content, features, and functionality behind GuardiBox, including software, text, graphics, logos, and design, belong to us and are protected under copyright, trademark, and related intellectual property law.

Where Our Liability Ends

To the extent the law allows, GuardiBox isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost profits or revenue, or lost data, use, or goodwill arising from your use of the service.

No Extra Guarantees

The service is offered "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Uninterrupted or error-free operation isn't guaranteed.

When Accounts Get Closed

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

  • You violate these Terms of Service
  • You engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
  • Your account poses a security risk
  • Law or legal process requires it

You're free to close your own account anytime through your account settings.

Covering Us If Something Goes Wrong

You agree to indemnify and hold GuardiBox, along with its officers, directors, employees, and agents, harmless from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses, including legal fees, arising from your use of the service or a breach of these terms.

Which Laws Apply

These Terms are governed by Swiss law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and any disputes are resolved in Swiss courts.

Updating These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service at any time. Material changes will be posted here along with an updated "Last updated" date, and continued use of the service after that point means you accept the changes.

If One Part Falls Apart

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, with the remaining provisions staying in full effect.
